The Fall Savers Wireless Chair Package is a complete chair exit monitoring system supplied as a matched pair: the Fall Savers Wireless Monitor and a compatible wireless chair sensor pad. The sensor pad is placed discreetly beneath the seat cushion and detects when the patient vacates the chair, wirelessly transmitting an alert to the Wireless Monitor at the staff response point. No trailing cables between chair and monitor allow the system to be used with repositionable and mobile seating without cable management complications. Immediate deployment across care homes, NHS wards, day centres and home care settings.

NICE Guideline NG147 (Falls in Older People) identifies unsupervised rising from a chair as a high-risk fall event for patients with orthostatic hypotension, lower limb weakness or dementia-related gait impairment who may fall during the sit-to-stand transition. The Fall Savers Wireless Chair Package provides the early alert that enables carer supervision or assistance during this transition, addressing the NG147 recommendation for prompt supervised mobility assistance for high-risk patients in seated settings. CQC Regulation 10 (Dignity and Respect) is supported by the discreet under-cushion sensor placement: the monitoring equipment is not visible above the cushion surface, maintaining the normal appearance of the seating and avoiding the institutional look of visible clinical equipment in care home lounge and bedroom areas. CQC Regulation 12 (Safe Care and Treatment) is served by the complete package format: the sensor and monitor are supplied as a confirmed compatible system, reducing the risk of deployment with mismatched components that may not function correctly together.
Can the chair sensor pad from this package be used with a Fall Savers Wireless Bed Package monitor?
Fall Savers wireless sensor pads pair with Fall Savers Wireless Monitors through a wireless pairing process. In principle, a chair sensor pad can be paired with any compatible Fall Savers Wireless Monitor, including one originally supplied in a Bed Package. This flexibility allows a care home with multiple Fall Savers monitors to reassign sensor pads between monitoring locations as patient needs change, without needing a dedicated monitor for each sensor type. Confirm pairing compatibility between the specific sensor pad and monitor models before reassigning components, as monitor generations may have sensor compatibility differences.
Will the wireless chair sensor pad continue to detect if the chair is moved to a different room?
The wireless sensor pad maintains its pairing with its registered Wireless Monitor regardless of physical location, subject to the wireless range between the pad and the monitor. If the chair is moved to a different room or area, the sensor pad will continue to transmit alerts to its paired monitor provided the monitor is within wireless reception range of the new location. If the monitor is in a fixed position at a nursing station and the chair is moved further away than the wireless range allows, the signal may not reliably reach the monitor. Confirm the effective wireless range of the specific system in the building environment during initial setup and take this into account when planning chair monitoring locations across larger care home layouts.
